Whitney & Eric

JULY 11, 2020 // OKLAHOMA CITY, OK

”I have seen the best & worst of you as well, & I know, with perfect clarity, exactly who you are. I do not need you, but I want you, & I choose you. I will continue to choose you for all of my life.”

Whitney & Eric’s July wedding was the first wedding I filmed since the start of the pandemic, & it was such a treat to be back doing what I love: creating precious time capsules for couples to cherish forever.

It’s no secret that the pandemic has caused a lot of strife for couples who planned their wedding for 2020. I hate how much it’s impacted what should be such an exciting time. Regardless of shortened guest lists, social distancing measures, & so.many.masks, Whitney & Eric had a beautiful ceremony at First Church in downtown OKC & celebrated their new marriage at the OKC Zoo with close friends & family, & it was a blast.

I loved getting to capture this couple’s joy, which is so evident in how much fun they have together. Some of my favorite moments throughout the day were the times we spent with just Whitney & Eric - they were constantly joking & laughing together, making fun of the awkward posing & showing off their own personalities during their portraits. During the editing process, I was continuously reminded of the authentic friendship between Whitney & Eric, because they were constantly smiling. It’s clear their life together will be so much fun. They really are each other’s best friend.

It’s always such an honor to be able to capture these moments & create something that will allow each couple to relive their wedding day. My goal is to always capture the unique story between each couple, & I hope this video allows everyone to see the never-ending love & laughter these two share. It was such a pleasure to create it!

Here are some shots from the day! Whitney & Eric’s full wedding film is linked below!

Caroline & Joe

OCTOBER 5, 2019 // EL RENO, OK

“I don’t know if there are two people who more deserve each other than you two.”

20_BW.jpg

Caroline & Joe’s wedding day was filled with laughter, happy tears, worship, & a lot of dancing. Something that seemed to continuously come up while family members & friends reflected on their relationship is how patient they’ve both been. They both took their time to find the one - to find each other - & praise the Lord they did! These two were made for each other.

I’m not sure I’ve ever met a girl who smiles more than Caroline. Throughout the day, she was full of joy & always laughing. My favorite moments are those where she’s visibly excited - jumping up & down in glee over the fact that she gets to marry the love of her life. That’s how a bride should feel on her wedding day.

8_BW.jpg

Family members always play a big role in a couple’s wedding & marriage, but Caroline & Joe really made sure to include their family, because both of their families are incredibly important to them. Joe is a twin, & through the whole day, I caught glimpses of how much love those two have for each other in how Jarrett supported & encouraged Joe. Watch closely as Caroline comes down the aisle - not only is Joe shedding a few tears, but so is Jarrett. I think this is the sweetest thing.

12_BW.jpg
13_BW.jpg
15_BW.jpg

Caroline’s dad officiated the wedding & led the couple as they exchanged vows & made a promise to each other before family & friends, & the Lord. It’s clear how deeply Caroline & Joe desire to glorify the Lord in their marriage. While this video shares their wedding day story, I think it’s clear that the real story is ultimately about something much bigger. Caroline & Joe’s firm faith in Jesus drives them to pursue a life committed solely to Him - & their marriage will be no different.

These two also know how to have a good time - & some great dance moves! Joe & his groomsmen dominated the dance floor & eventually covered mostly everyone in their sweat. And while that may be gross, that’s the kind of wedding reception I always hope for! Because that means everyone is having so much fun celebrating this couple’s marriage, & it’s a marriage worth celebrating. Needless to say, Caroline & Joe’s reception was a blast & I have never seen a group of boys put on a better show when Yellowcard’s, “Ocean Avenue” started playing.

I am so grateful to have gotten to witness Caroline & Joe’s wedding - not just their ceremony, but the moments leading up to it as well. I can’t say enough about their authenticity & their joy. They’re the type of people who make your day better when you spend time with them. I’m grateful for their marriage & the way they plan to serve the Lord through it. And I’m so grateful to have gotten to capture these moments & create a film for them to cherish & rewatch for years to come. My hope is that each time they watch their wedding video, they’ll be reminded of how faithful the Lord is & how deeply their love for Him & each other runs. It is a very beautiful thing.

KATIE & GARRETT

TULSA, OK // APRIL 13, 2019

31.jpg

Katie & Garrett’s wedding may have started out not going exactly as planned, but it ended up being an absolute dream of a wedding day, as their family & friends surrounded them & supported them & had one of the best parties I’ve been lucky enough to capture to date. It was awesome.

It. rained. all. day. And not only did it rain, but the storm had brought a cold front in that had dropped temperatures from where they’d been in the 60’s & 70’s all week, down to the 30’s & 40’s. It was windy, wet, & freezing, but sometimes, the unfortunate things that happen end up making the day more special, because the bad weather did not stop Katie & Garrett from having the best wedding day. That’s because, at the end of the day, this wasn’t about the wedding - it was about the fact that they were getting married! And nothing could rain (yes, pun intended) on their parade because these two love. each. other. so. much.

I met Katie back in college (boomer sooner!). We were in the same sorority (shoutout to AXO!) and we became good friends. College feels like a million years ago and life gets crazy, so I’d fallen out of touch with a lot of the girls I had become close with during college. I was so excited when Katie reached out to me about her wedding video because honestly, I’ve missed this girl. She is kind, patient, absolutely hilarious, and genuine. Garrett got himself a good one in Katie. And, Katie got herself a good one in Garrett! Even though I hadn’t known Garrett long, that didn’t stop him from treating me like he’d known me for years. He’s one of those people who you meet & instantly he becomes your friend. This couple is full of genuine kindness & love for their people. They’re also the couple who never ceases to have fun together & I love that about them.

So, despite the rain, this day was perfect, and I really believe that’s because of who Katie & Garrett are. As Katie’s dad said during his speech, “You two, you came up with a challenge of not only preparing the wedding, and you’ve done a fantastic job at that, both of you, but you know, marriage is about being a team. It’s about pushing through and making it happen. And that is the reason why I know your marriage is going to be special, and it’s going to last”, which I find to be a perfect statement to sum up Katie & Garrett’s strength as a couple. They’re certainly inspiring, as everyone can see how much love and respect they have for each other clearly, and they’re definitely a team, built on that strong foundation of love and respect. They are truly a special couple & I feel ridiculously honored that they allowed me to capture their wedding day.

BRADY + CARLIE

STILLWATER, OK // APRIL 22, 2017

I first met Carlie while working at Kanakuk a few years ago. I remember thinking she was one of the sweetest people I had ever met. She's one of those people who literally never complains and finds something positive in every situation. I can attest to this even on her wedding day, when she had a cold...I never heard her complain once.

I hadn't met Brady before their wedding day, but I got to hear their story while filming Carlie getting ready and more throughout the day as I heard the officiant and family members speak. I love their story because Brady knew Carlie was it for him far before she knew he was it for her, and he persisted. He prayed for her nightly, as Carlie's sister explains, so that her heart would change from seeing him as just a friend to more than that. It looks like God answered his prayer the way he had hoped for too!

The best word I can find to describe this couple is genuine. They are genuine in their love for the Lord and for people, and they're genuine in who they are. They themed parts of their wedding around their favorite books and movies- Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter - and watching them interact, you can tell they just have fun together and would never dream of changing themselves. I love getting to capture these stories where the couple just can't get enough of each other and further, attributes everything back to the Lord and has gratitude that He has given them to one another.

MILES + TAYLOR

August 5, 2016 // Edmond, OK

Miles and Taylor were such a fun couple to work with! People often say, "marry your best friend", and this couple portrays that statement perfectly. I didn't know Miles or Taylor prior to working with them, but it didn't take long for me to see how much they love each other and that they're truly each other's best friend.

The whole day was an exciting preparation for Miles and Taylor to officially become a family, and they made sure to include their adorable Goldendoodle, Fischer. I think he was just as excited as they were for their wedding! He even made an appearance on the dance floor and sent his newlywed parents off at the end of the night.

Kiah Bailey, my best friend and roommate, came alongside and helped me shoot this wedding, as well as created all of the calligraphy pieces for Miles and Taylor. Working with her was an added bonus to make this wedding even more fun.

Congratulations to Miles and Taylor! Thank you so much for letting me be part of your day!

HUNTER + RACHEL

July 30, 2016 // Kansas City, MO

What. A. Wedding. That's the best I can do to sum up this couple's glorious day. One of the hardest things about my job is when I have too much footage to choose from and this wedding video was one of the most difficult of them all. All of the footage I captured during this day was so pretty, so unique, and so meaningful.

I met Rachel when she came on staff with OKC KLife and I was a volunteer leader. From the first moment I met her, it was clear that she has a one-of-a-kind spirit and is so quick to share her excitement about Jesus, life, and her loved ones with others. We quickly became friends alongside a few other girls that formed a community that was such an answer to so many of our prayers. I don't know how I lucked out on having such incredibly, God fearing women as best friends.

I never knew Rachel before she met Hunter, but I can't imagine her with anyone else except him. It was so fun getting to know him a little bit more while I was filming. I lost count of how many times he said something along the lines of, "wow, I can't believe how beautiful she is and that she's mine." And more than that, I love how people describe this couple: a couple that is going to change the world with their faith and joy only found in Jesus. It is visible and it is inspiring.

This was also another Kanakuk/KLife wedding, which never, ever disappoint. From Kelsey Lewis's DJ skills to Rachel and her dad's surprise dance to Rachel making Hunter dance before tossing the garter, the entire day was a blast. One thing I know for sure, people who work at Kanakuk are not afraid of the dance floor. And I loved every minute of celebrating this couple with some of my dearest friends.

Throughout editing this video, I could not get over how pretty everything was. Every detail (major props to Rachel Huckabee and Abby Kephart for setting up and coordinating!), the relationships involved, the incredible venue and lighting during the ceremony, and just how much these two love Jesus. I hope that this video can capture some of that beauty and portray it for years and years to come. Congrats Hunter and Rachel! Thank you so much for letting me be part of your celebration.

ELIOT + HANNAH

APRIL 16, 2016 // NEW BRAUNFELS, TX

I've had the privilege of knowing the Olson family for several years and have loved getting to know their family. My uncle, aunt, and cousins have grown up with this family as dear friends and over the past few years, I've gotten to join in on this family friendship. About a year and a half ago, I was able to film Eliot's younger sister, Grace, and her husband Dan's wedding in Kansas City. When Susan asked me to film Eliot and Hannah's wedding in April in New Braunfels, I was so excited to get another opportunity to celebrate this family and help create something they can look back on and remember such an important time forever.

I was able to meet Hannah a few months before their wedding at her bridal shower. One thing that stood out to me was that Eliot showed up at the bridal shower, just to drop in unexpectedly for a few minutes and give Hannah flowers. It was so clear to me how much these two adore each other and desire to bring each other joy.

Their wedding day brought some unexpected surprises...rain forced the ceremony inside the winery's storage building, but that didn't keep it from being a beautiful time celebrating the union of this couple. Eliot's brother-in-law, Dan, officiated the ceremony and did a fantastic job at describing this couple's relationship and how they had gotten to this point, all the while giving all glory to God.

As always with the Olson family (and as I found out, Hannah's family as well) the dance floor was full all night long. A couple of other highlights from this wedding were getting to spend time with my aunt and uncle (be sure to check out the drone shot that starts the video--compliments of my uncle's sweet drone) and shooting alongside my best friend, Kiah Bailey, on her first wedding (she did awesome!)

I'm constantly thankful for every opportunity I have to capture some of the moment's for a couple's most important day and I always hope to create something they'll cherish forever. Eliot and Hannah, I hope you will always be able to look back on this video and remember this incredible day!

Brent + Nicole

February 27, 2016 // Branson, MO

Brent and Nicole's wedding was the second wedding I was able to travel to Branson, MO for and Branson never disappoints! The home of Kanakuk, beautiful weather nearly every time of the year, Dick's 5 & 10 and one of my favorite people to shoot video with, Justin Reppert (Kanakuk's video producer and my old boss), I absolutely love traveling there for any reason. Not to mention, a Kanakuk wedding is always bound to be a good time. Brent and Nicole's was no different!

Brent and I are former Bartlesville Bruins, Oklahoma Sooners, and Kanakuk staff. He still works at Kanakuk and met Nicole while judging a spelling bee at the school she teaches at in Branson. I hadn't ever met Nicole, but quickly became friends with her while she got ready that day and found her to be an incredibly joyful, kind, and beautiful person. I can say one thing about this couple...they both deserve to win the categories for "best smile".

Their wedding was an incredible testament to God's faithfulness, love, and grace. It's clear these two are a powerful force for the Lord and will continue pursuing Him throughout their lives. And, as with all Kanakuk weddings, the dance party was a blast. Enjoy!

CLAY + MAKAYLA HINES

3.19.2016 // Oklahoma City, OK

I met Makayla for the first time at Starbucks last fall after a friend referred her to me for her wedding video. The first thing I noticed about Makayla is how on top of things she was with planning her wedding! She had everything booked and on schedule months in advance...but I soon learned that as a doctor and a nurse, these two are great at managing time, schedules, and details with ease.

Their wedding was beautiful. From the gold sequin bridesmaid dresses, to the all white candy bar, to the always incredible lighting and colors the OKC Farmers Market provides, I had a blast shooting their day. Not to mention, the party! These two can definitely entertain. Be sure to catch Makayla on a hover board!

I'm so thankful for the friend who referred me to Makayla because I loved every minute of this wedding! I hope you all enjoy their video as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Jacob + Sydney Willis

February 6, 2016 // Oklahoma City, OK

I met Sydney while filming Adam and Brooke Tibbett's wedding in October in Branson, MO. It's so exciting how this business has led to me meeting some of the greatest people! While I didn't know Sydney prior to Brooke's wedding, she is somebody who becomes an immediate friend to anyone she meets. She is so warm and welcoming and I was so excited when she asked if I'd film her wedding in February.

I was fortunate enough to attend Jacob and Sydney's rehearsal dinner, where I got to learn more about who they both are as people and what makes their relationship so great. Jacob has 3 brothers and Sydney has 2 sisters, and I loved hearing stories from when they were young and seeing how clearly they had both made huge impacts on their families. These two have so many people who love and support them and it was really special for me to be able to capture some of that at their rehearsal dinner.

During the ceremony, the officiant spoke about how it's important to Jacob and Sydney that as the Willis's, they love well. They want to always care for those around them and this stems from knowing they're loved by a perfect God. Their marriage is a clear example of what Jesus designed marriage to look like and why. It was a true honor to be able to experience their day with them and create this video to help them relive it forever!

Blake + Victoria Bugg

December 31, 2015 // Norman, OK

I first met Victoria at Anthropologie in OKC about 6 months before her wedding. She was shopping and I was working and she came up to me and said, "I'm sorry if this is weird, but are you Kristen Leach?" I instantly loved her.

She had seen a video I had made for my old roommate, Madison, and had messaged me prior to that day at Anthro about doing her wedding video. She and Madison had gone to high school together so she recognized me from Facebook. I was initially excited about her wedding because it was set for New Year's Eve! What better way to spend NYE than to dress up and go to a wedding? After meeting Vicky and spending more time with her (including a cupcake date at Green Goodies :) ), I felt like I had known her for years. I later found out during her rehearsal dinner that this is one of her greatest character traits - befriending people and making them feel very loved.

About a month before Vicky and Blake's wedding, Blake's mom called me wondering if I could help with a photo slide show for their rehearsal dinner. We decided it would be more fun to do a "Love Story" of how the two met and became engaged. This meant I got to meet Blake prior to the wedding and hear their story in depth. I learned that they met in Spanish class 10 years ago and the rest is history!

I could go on and on about how great I think this couple is! It was such an honor to get to be part of this couple's day. It's obvious the love they have for each other and I loved getting to document all of the special moments they shared! Cheers to you, Blake and Victoria Bugg!

Derrek + Mallori Schick

October 17, 2015 // Dallas, TX

I have known Mallori for the past six years after we met through Alpha Chi Omega at OU. She has one of the most energetic and joyful personalities of anyone I've ever known. She definitely has a talent for getting people excited about things, which she always brought to Alpha Chi, and her wedding was no different. This was such an exciting and fun time throughout the entire day!

It was so much fun getting to capture some of the moments from this sweet couple's day. It is clear that Derrek and Mallori make each other so happy and love each other better than anyone else could. Every detail of this wedding was beautiful and as you'll be able to tell from this video, everyone had an absolute blast.

Thank you to Derrek and Mallori for letting me be part of their day!

Adam + Brooke Tibbetts

October 11, 2015 // Branson, MO

One thing you have to understand about video production is it's a job that makes you feel a little creepy at times. I have edited videos of people I've never met and upon meeting them for the first time, act as though I've known them for years, which is probably kind of weird for them. I watch these videos hundreds of times as I work through them and I start to feel like I know these people really well.

With that said, as I watched through the finished project of Adam and Brooke's wedding video, I found myself in tears. I have watched these videos over and over and I know the cue for what's coming next and I have the moments where I wish I would have been just a little steadier with my camera...but at the end of the day, this couple provided me with such a beautiful story to tell that it caused me to get choked up when I watched it from beginning to end.

Adam and Brooke embody redemption and grace in such a magnificent way. It's visible and encouraging. They got married in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful venues I have ever seen, but the most beautiful thing about their wedding day was how present the Lord is in their lives and how He is the one who united them in marriage.

This wedding also had me laughing out loud as I compiled dancing footage. There are some AWESOME dancing moments in here you guys. Keep an eye out for Brooke's Grandpa doing the air guitar!

As always, I'm so honored to be part of making these videos that will be an avenue for couples to relive their best day yet. Thank you so much Adam and Brooke for allowing me to do this!

Enjoy!

Kory + Courtney Myers

August 7, 2015 // Norman, OK

I met Courtney and Kory around 3 years ago while we were all serving with OKC KLife! They quickly became two of my favorite people and it was clear to me from the get-go how perfect they are for each other. These two love adventure and never take life too seriously. I loved capturing some of the moments from their wedding day that really show who they are...like Kory's surprise shark socks for Courtney (she loves sharks) and how you can hear him tell her that she looks like a big kid during their first look...to which she responds, "I know!". These two are the epitome of what it looks like to "marry your best friend."

Thanks, you two, for letting me be part of your day! It was a blast getting to make this for you.

Nyko + Madison Engagement

July 3, 2015 // Norman, OK

12003374_10205454360345485_1457182973723229019_n.jpg

Last Friday, July 3rd, 2015, I had the privilege of filming Nyko's proposal to my roommate, Madison. They have been together for nearly 11 years and I think it can be said for everyone that this moment was met by a reaction of, "FINALLY"! I am so excited for these two. Having grown up together, they have had their ups and downs in their relationship, but they will be the first to say that the fact that they're still together today is all due to the Lord's grace. They found salvation in our Savior around the same time and are two of the most faithful, grace filled and steadfast people that I've ever met. Madison has been one of the biggest blessings in a friendship that I have ever received and I have loved getting to see the love and commitment they have for each other, and, more importantly, for our Lord, this past year. I am so grateful to have witnessed this moment!

*I have a full cut of Nyko's proposal with audio that I will upload shortly. It is definitely worth watching because Nyko had some really beautiful things to say!

Europe Trip

May 2015 // Dubin, Ireland, Edinburgh, Scotland, London, England, Paris, France

I recently got back from an 11 day trip exploring Dublin, Ireland, Edinburgh, Scotland, London, England, and Paris, France with my sister, mother, and grandmother. Our trip could not have gotten much better (with the exception of a few days it rained a little too much) and I loved getting to see brand new parts of the world. The constant rainfall in Ireland and Scotland make these countries so lush and green! Some highlights from the trip were visiting the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland and hiking Arthur's Seat in Scotland. We saw castles, ate macarons, listened to live Irish music (which I fell in love with), tried to speak French, climbed to the top of the Eiffel Tower (okay...second level...but we would have gone to the top if it hadn't closed earlier that day) and fell in love with new cultures. One of my favorite parts of traveling is seeing the different ways people live and attempting to immerse myself in their daily lives. I hope you will be able to see some of that in these photos!

You Brought Me Back to Life Lyric Treatment

April 5, 2015 // Norman, OK

For Easter at Journey this year, I was asked to do a couple of lyric treatments for some of the songs we planned to sing. I have a pretty basic knowledge of After Effects, so it was a challenge to compose two fairly complicated lyric treatments, but I am proud of the finished products!

Something I have learned this past year with motion graphics is you have to be very patient...something I'm not too great at. In order to advance my skills, I have to be willing  to watch online video tutorials over and over, explore the thousands of effects and settings the software has to offer, and deal with the slow rendering process after a project gets bogged down with tons of effects and layers. Not to mention key framing. If you know anything about motion graphics, you'll know that key framing effects can be summed up in one word: tedious. Despite how meticulous working with motion graphics can be, I have grown to love it and I'm thankful that I am able to advance my skills through projects like this one.

Here is one of the lyric treatments I made to "You Brought Me Back to Life" by Citizens and Saints.

Dan + Grace Casey

March 7, 2015 // Kansas City, MO

Dan and Grace's wedding was one like I've never experienced before. Not because of their wedding itself, although it was absolutely beautiful, creative and inspiring, but because of their story. I have "known" Grace for a few years now...out first interaction being over email when she helped me prepare for my first summer working at Kanakuk. She is the daughter of my aunt's longtime best friend, so I felt like I knew her before I even met her. I remember during my first week at Kanakuk, Grace sent me a package that had a KU Kanakuk shirt in it. I remember feeling really honored that she would think to send me that and it is still one of my favorite shirts! When I was finally able to meet her, I was blown away by how easy she is to talk to, how encouraging she is, and, like many say about her, her strength and reliance on grace through the many trials she has encountered through her life. She quickly became someone I admired.

Dan and Grace have an incredible story and I won't try to share it here because I would not do it justice in a million years, but if you're reading this and you're interested, check out their wedding website where they've shared it in detail.

It was truly an honor getting to capture their day. I think this video makes it pretty clear how genuine and deep their love for each other is. And the best thing about them is their constant desire to glorify the Lord which is evident in all that they do.

Thank you Dan and Grace! Enjoy!

Josh + Taylor Maynard

December 12, 2014 // Norman, OK

It was such a joy getting to capture some of the incredible moments from this couple's wedding day! Not only did I love the wedding day itself, but while editing their video, I found myself in tears over and over due to either laughing so hard or just because the love these two share is so genuine.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Josh for the past 3 years after meeting him at Kanakuk K1 and Taylor for the past 2 years through OKC K-Life. I now get to spend time with both of them weekly as they are now both OKC K-Life staff members. Not only do they portray a Christ centered relationship, they are each an example of what it looks like to keep Christ as the top priority of their individual lives. I can't wait to watch the Lord use them in mighty ways throughout their lives.

I am constantly in awe of how God allows me to do such cool things, like tell this couple's story of their wedding day. It was an absolute blast and I'm so grateful for this opportunity. It's so neat how He lets me do the things I love and teaches me in so many ways in the process. This couple has definitely taught me a lot about what it looks like to keep God first in all situations...their marriage is no different.

Connell Family Christmas

December 2014 // Canyon Lake, TX

Every so often I am given the opportunity to take photos for my cousin, Stephani, and her family. She and her husband, Josh, have two sons, Thomas (2 and a half) and Michael (6 months). This year, we took pictures the day before Thanksgiving that they will use for their Christmas card. I love this sweet family so much and they have really helped me grow my skills in photography!
